Tempêtes et Passions is a non-profit organization founded in 2007 which produces and broadcasts lyrical concerts. Its mission is to make discover, in an original and experiential way, the romantic era, and to contribute to the development of the next generation through a mentoring program.
Under the Cultural Development Agreement of Quebec City, the organization wanted to explore different technologies of augmented reality with a view to renewing the lyric art as we know it.
The problem is to bring the opera to life in an aesthetic that attracts new audiences by integrating digital elements.
The project made it possible to develop a short lyrical representation, using different digital vision technologies, including augmented reality, in order to enrich the viewer's experience in the era of digital technologies. The experiment was carried out from an excerpt from a reworked opera entitled The Legend of King Arthur, inspired by Henry Purcell's King Arthur. It was presented to the public, and broadcast on social networks.
